The victim impact statements of family members of murdered Queensland woman Allison Baden-Clay have been released by Brisbane's Supreme Court.
The statements - from parents Geoff and Priscilla, brother Ashley and sister Vanessa - detail the immeasurable heartbreak and grief that has stayed with them since Allison’s death in 2012.
In his statement, Allison's father Geoff Dickie wrote that his daughter’s death constantly haunted him.
“I wake up in the middle of the night and find it difficult to go back to sleep because as soon as I wake the thoughts and aspects of the tragedy are always on my mind," he wrote.
“I also constantly try to imagine how she felt at the moment she was being attacked and realised she was about to lose her life.
"I know she would have found the strength to fight hard and long as she could to the end before she was murdered."
Allison’s mother Priscilla wrote that Allison had the "ability to handle any situation in life."
"This she proved while fighting for her life and leaving those scratch mark's on Gerard's face on that fateful night. God Bless Her."
"The impact of seeing those scratch marks on his face the day she was reported missing will remain with me forever."
Allison's sister Vanessa wrote that she felt "cheated" that she was never able to say goodbye to her "intelligent, strong, resilient, passionate, devoted" sister, and rejected the idea that Allison had let depression dominate her life.
"She was never so debilitated that she could not function," Vanessa wrote. "Like any mother with three children and a household to run, she was busy, tired and stressed."
Gerard Baden-Clay was yesterday found guilty of murdering Allison and sentenced to 15 years jail.
