A young boy in China has had an incredibly lucky escape after being run over by a car in eastern China.

The six-year-old boy was playing with toys in the middle of the street near his home in Shandong Province when a car, apparently not seeing the young child, drove right over him.

CCTV footage showed the driver continuing to drive without stopping.

Miraculously, the boy can be seen boy crawling out from under the car and walking off the street.

The boy was unhurt in the incident, the BBC reports.

Authorities said the boy only survived because of his small size and position between the two wheels of the car.

The driver later told police he didn't notice the child.

The case is currently under investigation.
