Hollywood star Angelina Jolie will return to Australia next month for the world premiere of Unbroken.
Jolie will walk the red carpet in Sydney for the premiere of her WWII film on November 17, it was announced on the Nine Network on Thursday.
Joining Jolie at the premiere will be British actor Jack O'Connell (300: Rise of an Empire) who plays the lead role in the movie.
The film, directed by Jolie, was shot around Australia, in spots including Sydney's Cockatoo Island and the small rural town of Werris Creek in NSW.
During filming last year, the actress/director and her six children lived in Sydney's eastern suburbs. Jolie and her brood were regularly spotted around town enjoying local tourist spots and eateries, including Rose Bay's Grandfather's Moustache.
Jolie's husband Brad Pitt also made numerous trips Down Under during his family's stay in Australia and was snapped enjoying family trips to Luna Park, Tarongo Zoo and a Gold Coast ice skating rink.
Unbroken is based on the true story of war hero Louis Zamperini, an Olympic runner who joined the Air Force in 1941 and survived on a raft for 47 days after his plane was shot down, only to be captured by the Japanese.
The film, also starring Australian actor Jai Courtney, is already garnering plenty of Oscar hype.
Courtney says they all knew the story was "special" and says he was desperate to be a part of the film.
"It was literally one of those cases where it was like `I don't care what I play, I just want to be part of this movie," Courtney told the Huffington Post this week.
"You want to be part of that story that's being told," he added.
Courtney was also full of praise for Jolie as a director, saying she was "fantastic".
"She's got a wonderful creative voice," he said.
