An English couple who won STG1 million ($A1.95 million) in the EuroMillions lottery for a second time, beating odds of more than 283 billion to one, are finally planning to move out of their static caravan home.

Dave and Kathleen Long, from Scunthorpe, won their first STG1 million in 2013 and scooped the big money prize again on Friday night.

The couple previously banked STG1 million in the EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle draw on July 26, 2013, before they married.

Despite their windfall, they decided to upgrade their prefabricated home - adding a conservatory and other improvements - rather than spend their cash on an upmarket house.

Now they are looking for what they called on Wednesday their "dream home", although they still appeared to be thinking about a modest semi-detached house.

Former lorry driver Mr Long said he "just knew it would be my turn again some day".

He said "you never know" when asked about winning for a third time.

"They say things come in threes, don't they? Third time lucky and all that."

Two years ago, Mr Long nearly missed out on the big win altogether.

He thought he had won just STG2.70 and, with the ticket in the bin, nearly didn't bother to claim the winnings.

At the last moment he decided to retrieve the ticket as he needed to buy a newspaper.

"I had to fish the ticket out of the bin that time and found when I got to the shop that it was worth a heck of a lot more.

"I lasted three days at work and then took early retirement."

A spokesman for the bookmaker Ladbrokes said of the double win: "Given the odds suggest it's far more likely Elvis is found alive this year, it's fair to say this couple have the lucky touch."
