Counting to resume in close NSW seats

The focus will be on three close-fought NSW seats when the counting of ballots resumes, with Labor leading the coalition by just 51 votes in Gosford.

Whoever wins the northern NSW seat of Lismore must cancel gas licenses across the electorate, Greens candidate Adam Guise says.

Counting in the close-fought seat is set to resume on Wednesday, with Mr Guise trailing Nationals rival Thomas George by 1526 votes, with almost 90 per cent of the ballots counted.

Mr Guise pulled ahead of Mr George following the March 28 election.

But, despite a 22.5 per cent swing to the Greens it looks like the seat will stay with the Nationals.

The focus will also be on the seats of Gosford and East Hills, where the Liberal Party's Glenn Brookes leads Labor's Cameron Murphy by 420 votes with 92 per cent counted.

Labor's Kathy Smith leads the Liberals' Chris Holstein by just 51 votes in Gosford with 90.4 per cent counted on Tuesday.
