Three people have been taken to hospital with minor injuries after two light planes collided on a Melbourne runway.

Two light planes have collided on a Melbourne runway, injuring three people.

A man and a woman, both in their 20s, and a third person have been taken to Monash Medical Centre with minor injuries.

Two other people are being monitored by paramedics.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesman says the planes are believed to have been taxiing down Moorabbin Airport runway when they crashed.
