US comedian John Oliver has taken down Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce in a hilarious segment on his late-night TV show, Last Week Tonight.
Oliver starts the clip by recapping how Johnny Depp brought his dogs into Australia without declaring them, only to be told by Mr Joyce that they would have to be returned home.
"I've got to say that's pretty ballsy. Elected officials very rarely risk openly telling puppies to go f--- themselves," Oliver said to roaring laughter.
The TV host then poked fun at Mr Joyce's threat that if the dogs weren’t returned, they would be euthanised.
"He gave them a death countdown," Oliver said, smiling.

To finish, Oliver said he hoped the whole affair had been worth it because Australia had 'made it personal" and the US "had no choice but to respond."
"As of this moment you've got 50 hours to get everything Australian out of our country, or else," a menacing voice can be heard saying.
"You can start by taking back all your disgusting Vegemite, which tastes like a kangaroo took a salty s--t in a jar."
"Then, while you’re at it, come and get every sh---y music album you’ve ever sent over here, especially Midnight Oil."
