Email scammers posing as Australia Post are trying to trick people into paying for parcel holding.
Victorian man Daniel Brunning received one of the emails, which is written in broken English, saying: "We will have the reason to claim compensation from you for it's (sic) keeping in the amount of 1.06 AUD to each day of preserving."
Mr Brunning said the email was perfectly timed because he had a parcel to pick up from the post office.
The email, which has Australia Post logos, contains a link that reportedly directs customers to a website to download a new information label or re-enter their address.
Australia Post said it did not ask customers to pay for parcel collection, charge to hold a parcel, or reconfirm an address by clicking on a link.
