Delegates at a homeopathy conference in Germany have been taken to hospital after reportedly taking a hallucinogenic drug.

The group had met for a conference on the alternative medicine at a hotel in the town of Handeloh, near Hamburg, on Friday.

German Broadcaster NDR reported that 29 people at the conference were “staggering around, rolling in a meadow, talking gibberish and suffering severe cramps” after taking an LSD-like drug.

The delegates, aged between 24 and 56, were taken to hospital.
