After masterminding Japan's stunning win over South Africa at the Rugby World Cup, coach Eddie Jones will head to South Africa following the tournament to take charge of the Stormers.
The Cape Town-based Super Rugby team announced on Monday that Jones would take over as head coach for the 2016 season.
The Stormers said he will move to South Africa as soon as Japan's World Cup campaign is over.
Jones confirmed in mid-August he was in talks with the Super Rugby franchise but denied reports he'd already signed with them.
The 55-year-old coached Japan to a 34-32 win over the two-time world champion Springboks on Saturday in what is regarded as the biggest upset in the history of the Rugby World Cup.
Jones coached the Brumbies to the Super Rugby title in 2001 before going on to coach Australia from 2001-05.
He then joined Saracens in England as a consultant before linking with the Queensland Reds for the 2007 Super Rugby season.
The Reds finished last, winning just two games and Jones stepped down as coach before he became an assistant to South African coach Jake White who steered the Springboks to the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
