Family and friends of Fairfax columnist and author Sam de Brito have been left grieving following the writer's sudden death.
The 46-year-old father-of-one was found dead at a property along Hastings Parade in North Bondi around 8am on Monday, police confirmed.
A NSW police spokesperson told AAP that initial investigations reveal there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
In a statement to Fairfax, de Brito's family said the 46-year-old was a wonderful father to his daughter, Anoushka, and that they have been left "devastated" by his tragic passing.
"His family asks for privacy at this time as they grieve for the loss of Sam and await the results of a coroner's report," the family said in the statement.
De Brito wrote the Fairfax column All Men Are Liars. He also wrote five books including No Tattoos Before You're Thirty and No Sex With Your Ex.
He wrote, directed and starred in the 1998 comedy film Revenge, Inc. His other writing credits include episodes for TV shows Water Rats and Stingers.
