NSW teacher 'had child abuse material'

A former Sydney dance teacher has been charged with possessing child abuse material after an examination of his computer and mobile phone.

A former Sydney dance teacher has been charged with possessing child sex abuse material.

Police raided the 48-year-old's Merrylands home last month, and he was arrested on Thursday following an examination of his computer and mobile phone.

The man, who also worked as a teacher's aide, was refused bail and is scheduled to appear at Newtown Local Court on Friday to face a number of charges including stalking and inciting production/possession of child abuse material.
