Adelaide's air-conditioned central bus station will stay open around the clock as the city swelters through a heatwave.
The mercury reached 41.1C in Adelaide on Wednesday, and the Bureau of Meteorology says the temperature won't fall below 40C until a mild change on Sunday.
Lord Mayor Martin Haese says the Franklin St station will stay open for 24 hours to offer relief from the heat.
The temperature in Adelaide is set to reach 40C on Thursday, with severe fire danger forecast for the northwest pastoral, lower southeast and Mount Lofty Ranges districts.
