Residents and vets of a Sydney suburb are desperately searching for a dog and a cat after their pet sitter suffered a stroke and was unable to locate them.
Facebook pages and door to door searches have been organised in the Sydney suburb of Summer Hill after a man reportedly known as Tim suffered a stroke and has been unable to tell his family where two pets he was looking after are.
His son Sean contacted Summer Hill Village Vet on Thursday to see if they could help locate the animals whose owners are on holiday but so far they hadn't found any trace, veterinarian nurse Tara Britton told AAP.
According to posts on Facebook, the pets have been without food or water for five days and Fairfax Media reported that the man had suffered a stroke on Boxing Day.
It is believed the owners were holidaying somewhere on the south coast of NSW.
Shoalhaven police have also been contacted and are appealing for anyone with information to contact Summer Hill Village Vets.
