Senate inquiry into bullying in medicine

Bullying and harassment in the medical profession will be examined by a Senate committee which willl also look at any barriers to making complaints.

A Senate committee will inquire into bullying and harassment in the medical profession.

Independent senators Nick Xenophon and John Madigan called for the inquiry on Tuesday to examine whether there were any barriers to reporting harassment.

The inquiry will also examine the role of the Medical Board of Australia and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency in investigating complaints and is due to report back in June.
