WA volunteer firefighter on arson charges

A 23-year-old volunteer firefighter will face court accused of deliberately lighting fires in WA's South West region.

A West Australian volunteer firefighter has been charged with three counts of arson.

Police allege the 23-year-old man deliberately lit two fires in the Donnybrook area on December 22 and a third on December 28.

The third blaze threatened lives and homes, prompting a watch and act alert.

The man will face the Northbridge court via video link on Sunday.
