Microsoft to partner with thred

Microsoft has partnered with meta-social and media sharing application thred, choosing it as a key start-up partner in the consumer and mobile space.

Global software and communications giant Microsoft has agreed to partner with next-generation meta-social and media sharing application thred, selecting it as a key start-up partner in the consumer and mobile space.

Through the partnership arrangement Microsoft will be providing financial and technical support for thred, as well as recommending thred globally through Microsoft's considerable distribution and business networks.

"This is a significant development and marks a new direction for thred and we are excited at the prospect of having integrate with Microsoft's products," thred co-founder David Whitaker said.

The thred team has been working closely with Microsoft for some time to ensure that thred works with the Microsoft Azure platform and this process is almost complete after the application was initially introduced to Microsoft via the inclusion of thred into Microsoft's BizSpark+ program.

Microsoft has subsequently also worked closely with the development thred team by offering their Office365 graph API that will provide thred messaging platform access Office 365 data, this includes Microsoft's mail, calendars and contacts to provide better service for business users.

thred is a next-generation meta-social & media sharing application which aims to address all major global social media platforms, allowing instant access to all social media friends, followers and contacts in a simple unified way, with the potential to connect billions of social media users.

Promesa announced on May 7, 2015 that it intended to acquire 100% of the issued share capital of Thred and its subsidiaries.
