Day draws Els and Kuchar at Masters

The groupings for the opening two rounds at the Masters have been released with world No.1 Jason Day playing with Ernie Els and American Matt Kuchar.

World No.1 Jason Day will begin his Masters quest grouped with four-time major winner Ernie Els and American Matt Kuchar over the opening two rounds at Augusta National.

Day will go off at 3:06am Friday (AEST) as he looks to win a second consecutive major, a third event in a row and a seventh win in 14 starts.

Steven Bowditch has the honour of being in the first competitive group on the course behind honorary starters Arnold Palmer, Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus.

Bowditch starts his second Masters at 10:20pm, Thursday with American Jim Herman, who won in Houston last week to get the last invitation.

Former Masters champion Adam Scott goes out at 1:05am, Friday with American duo Kevin Kisner and Brooks Koepka.

Marc Leishman makes his emotional return to the Masters in a group with three-time Masters winner Phil Mickelson and Swede Henrik Stenson.

Cameron Smith will get his Masters debut away at 1:16am, Friday with former champion Mike Weir and amateur Sammy Schmitz.

Defending champion Jordan Spieth goes out at 11:48pm, Thursday with Paul Casey and amateur Bryson DeChambeau.

World No.3 Rory McIlroy is in the last tee time of the day at 4:01am, Friday as he chases the career grand slam, grouped with Martin Kaymer and Bill Haas.
