A major innovation summit featuring high profile visionaries from across the world will start in Brisbane on Thursday morning.

A major innovation summit featuring appearances from some of the world's best visionaries is being held in Brisbane.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk will open the Advance Queensland Innovation and Investment Summit at the Royal International Convention Centre on Thursday morning.

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak will head up the first information session via a livestream from the US.

Other speakers include leading content strategist for Google/YouTube Australia Sanoop Luke and the "Queen of Start-ups" Bindi Karia.

Regional summits are also being held in Townsville, Cairns and Toowoomba as part of the government's push for new investment and jobs.

Queensland Innovation Minister Leeanne Enoch said it was important to support innovators in all corners of the state.

"This summit provides a fantastic platform for some of the world's visionaries in technology and innovation - including some of Queensland's best and brightest minds - to share their ideas and advice," she said.

The summit runs until Friday afternoon.
