Australia's women's cricketers have ended an unbeaten limited-overs tour of Sri Lanka in emphatic fashion, recording a 10-wicket win in the sole Twenty20 match in Colombo.
The Southern Stars took just 8.1 overs to chase down the meagre target of 60 on Tuesday at Sinhalese Sports Club, with Elyse Villani (34 not out) and Beth Mooney (29no) coasting to victory with 71 balls to spare.
The No.1-ranked tourists were a class above, two days after completing a 4-0 clean sweep of their one-day series.
The day didn't start well for Australia when skipper Meg Lanning was ruled out due to illness.
However, after stand-in captain Alex Blackwell won the toss and elected to bowl, Sri Lankan wickets tumbled.
Opener Lasanthi Madushani (17) was the only batter to get to double-figures, with Kristen Beams again the pick of the bowlers with 3-11 as Sri Lanka ended their 20 overs at 8-59.
The leg-spinner continued her stunning tour form after taking 13 wickets at a phenomenal average of 5.92 in the ODI series.
Off-spinner Erin Osborne (1-9), left-arm orthodox spinner Jess Jonassen (1-8) and medium-pacer Ellyse Perry (1-8) were all incredibly frugal in their four-over spells.
Villani and Nicole Bolton chipped in with run-outs.
Australia now head home to begin their preparations for the five-match ODI series against South Africa in November.
