South Australia have sights set on another Sheffield Shield win with Tasmania on the ropes entering day three at Adelaide Oval.
The Tigers will resume their second innings at 4-57, some 327 runs shy of making the Redbacks bat again.
SA swingman Chadd Sayers again did the damage, taking 3-9 from eight overs to follow his first-innings 6-32.
Sayers' burst reduced the Tasmanians to 4-18, laying the platform for SA to bank consecutive wins to open their Shield campaign.
After bowling the Tigers out for just 98 in the first innings, the Redbacks posted an imposing 481 all out with opener Jake Weatherald (135) and Jake Lehmann (129 not out) scoring centuries.
Sayers then took two wickets in the opening over of Tasmania's second innings, with the visitors hopes of an unlikely rescue mission resting largely with captain George Bailey (20 not out).
"The bowlers we have got are really on top and it really helps the batters," said Weatherald after his maiden first-class century.
"It (another win) would be a great step and send a message to a few other teams about how well we are playing."
