A three year-old girl is dead after she was pulled from a car and suffered cardiac arrest in Sydney's northwest on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to Cameo Circuit, Glenwood before 5pm after receiving reports the girl was unconscious inside a car parked outside a home.

Police say family were performing CPR inside the home when they arrived.

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said the girl was in cardiac arrest by the time paramedics got there.

The child was taken to the Children's Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition but later died, police say.

A crime scene has been established.
