Leicester consider FA Cup for new signing

Leicester signing Wilfred Ndidi has trained with the EPL club for the first time ahead of a possible debut in an FA Cup third-round clash against Everton.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri said new signing Wilfred Ndidi had a great future after the 20-year-old completed his move to the English champions on Thursday.

The Nigeria midfielder signed a five-and-a-half-year deal from Belgian club Genk for around 15 million pounds ($A25.3 million), media reports said.

"He is a very impressive player with a great future," Ranieri told Leicester's website.

"He is tall and jumps very well for the headers, moved the ball quickly and recovers the ball very well. We have followed him a lot and we hope he is a very quickly impress the fans."

Ndidi trained with the Leicester squad for the first time on Thursday, and Ranieri said he could make his debut as soon as Saturday, when they play Everton in the FA Cup third round.

"I don't know (if he will play). Let me see him in training. Today was his first. He was OK. I want to see tomorrow and then I choose."
