Uber driver attacked, car stolen by teens

An Uber driver in Lake Macquarie has been attacked and had his car stolen.

A group of teenagers have allegedly set upon a ride-sharing service driver, assaulting him before stealing his car in NSW.

The 35-year-old Uber driver was called to a Lake Macquarie address early on Sunday, when he was dragged from his car and assaulted by a four or five teenagers.

The man managed to escape to a nearby house, after being chased by two people with baseball bats, who then smashed a car parked in the driveway.

The man's car is believed to have been driven a short distance by two people, and was recovered crashed into a roundabout, while two phones and a wallet were also stolen.

The driver sustained cuts and abrasions to his arms and legs, muscle pain and soreness but declined medical attention at the scene.
