Perth Lynx scoring-machine Sami Whitcomb has re-signed with the WNBL club for a further two seasons, and she's hoping to crack a WNBA deal as well.
Whitcomb took the WNBL by storm last season, averaging 24.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.6 steals per game to lead the Lynx into the semi-finals.
Her 652 points and 105 three-pointers last season were both new records, with the impressive stats even catching the attention of WNBA scouts.
Whitcomb will fly to the US on Friday to link up with the Seattle Storm for a four-week training camp.
An impressive stint during the training camp could land the California-born guard a coveted WNBA deal.
The Lynx have made the finals for two seasons in a row, and the 28-year-old wants to help the Perth club win a title next year.
"It was a really easy decision to come back," Whitcomb said of her decision to re-sign.
"Perth's my home now, so I feel very fortunate that I was able to sign for another two years and keep working towards that championship.
"I love playing here."
"Knowing the direction that we're going in, it's really exciting to be a part of that."
