Bomb squad clears package at Qld Kmart

Police say a suspicious package that was found inside a Kmart store north of Brisbane is safe and expect to reopen the area.

A suspicious package found inside a Kmart store at a shopping centre north of Brisbane has been declared not dangerous by the bomb squad.

The package was found around 9.20am on Thursday at the shopping centre on King Street in Caboolture.

The area was closed off as police investigated the device, reportedly a box with wires sticking out.

The bomb squad cleared the package as safe around midday and expect the area to open again shortly.
