Collingwood's Jess Duffin will again divide her summer between two sports as she continues her cricket career with WBBL side Melbourne Renegades before returning to the AFLW.
The 2013 Australian women's cricketer of the year has switched to the Renegades from cross-town rivals the Melbourne Stars for the Twenty20 domestic season.
She played with the Stars till late January this year before playing all seven games for the Magpies in the inaugural AFLW season, which began on February 3.
She kicked six goals as a small forward.
Despite finding time in 2016/17, Duffin opted against playing in the 50-over WNCL with Victoria this summer to be available for the Magpies.
The 28-year-old said the Renegades were accommodating of her desire to play both sports, while Collingwood have indicated they're happy with the arrangements.
"As I'm involved in both footy and cricket, the (Renegades have) been great so far in being willing to help me contribute to both clubs," Duffin said.
The Renegades labelled Duffin a role model for her achievements in the two sports.
"We're committed to helping Jess achieve a workable balance between her cross-code commitments with football," chief executive Stuart Coventry said.
Cricket and Australian Rules are two of the most lucrative sports for women athletes, with AFLW players paid a minium $9,276, while WBBL salaries start at $36,000.
Duffin, nee Cameron, is among the highest-profile of the AFLW's many cross-sport stars, alongside league 2017 best-and-fairest and basketball star Erin Phillips of Adelaide.
Fremantle's Kim Mickle (javelin), Brianna Davey (soccer) of Carlton, Greater Western Sydney player Jessica Bibby (basketball) and Emma Kearney (cricket) from the Western Bulldogs are also among those to switch from other sports.
Retired Hockeyroos player Georgie Parker has signed with the Magpies for next season.
