British IS recruiter Sally Jones is believed to have been killed by a US Air Force Predator drone strike on the border between Syria and Iraq.

Britain's The Sun newspaper cites US intelligence sources as saying Jones was killed in June.

The reported death has yet to be confirmed by official channels. There have been several such claims of IS militants having been killed only for them to resurface months later.

Jones – dubbed the 'White Widow' – was known to be a recruiter and propagandist for IS. Her husband, Junaid Hussain, also an IS recruiter, was reportedly killed in a drone strike in 2015.

The report claims CIA chiefs informed UK counterparts of her death but news of the strike has been kept quiet amid concerns her 12-year-old son may also have been killed.
