Sally Pearson is chasing double glory early next year, confirming she's hoping to compete at the world indoor championships before the Commonwealth Games.
Having completed a remarkable comeback from two injury-riddled years with her second 100m hurdles world championship success in August, Pearson is now in training for a busy start to 2018.
The poster girl for next year's Gold Coast Games, Pearson will spend most of her preparation for the April event in Australia.
But a trip to England for March's world indoor championships in Birmingham is definitely on her radar.
Pearson won the 60m hurdles at the 2012 indoor titles in Turkey and claimed silver in the same event at the 2014 championships.
"It's six weeks before I race at the Commonwealth Games so there's plenty of time to do both," Pearson said.
Pearson said her season will start earlier than she previously thought as she chases a third-consecutive 100m hurdles Commonwealth Games title.
"At this stage nothing confirmed, probably the second week of January," she said when asked when she was likely to race her first competitive 100m hurdles of the season.
Pearson took a break from training on Wednesday to speak at a Griffith University Health and Physical Education forum on the Gold Coast.
The Olympic gold medallist said school sport had played a key role in her development as an athlete and she was happy to give back.
"For me, it all started at school," she said.
"You learn a lot about sport in general and I think that helped me become a more experienced athlete."
