A 2018 wall calendar titled 'Justin Trudeau, My Canadian Boyfriend' sold in some retail stores in the US and online has excited and confused consumers.

The Canadian prime minister and former teacher features in the cheeky calendar - selling for $25 - as Mr February making a love heart gesture, as Mr November with his beloved dog and flexing topless as Mr July.

Social media users were divided over the calendar with some eager to see a new photo of the prime minister every month.

However, some Americans and Canadians were sceptical and were not going to be purchasing the calendar for Christmas.

Mr Trudeau, aged 45, is the 23rd prime minister of Canada and was elected as leader in 2015.

The prime minister has just apologised for the oppression of LGBTQ communities following actions from the government taken against workers in the military and public service during the Cold War.
