Exercise shown to help prevent effects of toxic drugs during cancer treatment

A trial in Melbourne has found that monitored exercise programs can prevent the harsh effects of toxic drugs on the cardiovascular system. Professor Andre La Gerche developed a test which monitors a patient's heart during exercise. It found those who participated in monitored exercise programs showed no evidence of heart damage as a result of chemotherapy drugs.
