An elderly man's body found at a Melbourne beach is not being treated as suspicious.
The remains of the man, aged in his 80s, were found at Chelsea Beach just after 12.30pm on Tuesday when police were called to the area for a welfare check.
A crime scene was established on The Beachway near Avondale Avenue with a stretch of the beach closed as homicide detectives investigated.
Police say the death is not suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
