A new report argues that Indigenous Australians are likely to keep dying younger than other Australians while they remain unacknowledged in Australia's constitution.

 

The Lowitja Institute for Aboriginal and Islander Health Research has found efforts to boost indigenous health are being impeded by a lack of constitutional recognition.

 

As Karen Ashford reports, the Institute believes this has allowed governments to dodge responsibility for health outcomes.
