An estimated 25,000 messages have been relayed by a network of radio amateurs helping rescuers reach people stranded by floodwaters in Serbia.

 

Serbia, together with neighbouring Bosnia and Croatia, has been hit by unprecedented flooding in past days.

 

Members of the Radio Amateur Union of Serbia are working around the clock to connect people affected by the deluge with rescue and crisis services.

 

Dragan Antonic is at the operator headquarters in the capital Belgrade.

 

As the region prepares for a second flood surge, he is speaking with Kristina Kukolja.
