Amnesty views on WA detention centres

Human rights group Amnesty International is mid-way through its tour of the country's immigration detention centres.
Human rights group Amnesty International is mid-way through its tour of the country's immigration detention centres, with a visit to two facilities in Western Australia.
Amnesty's refugee expert, Dr Graham Thom, says the delegation has visited the remote Curtin centre in the far north of the state.
He says it has also seen a tiny centre in Perth, used mainly for detainees needing medical attention.
Dr Thom told Nikki Canning, conditions in the two centres are quite different.
