Given TWICE's recent run of success with "Cheer Up" and their previous album "Page Two", we expected their new album "TWICEcoaster: Lane 1" to be a big hit, but we suspect that no one expected it to set a new record from day one!
TWICE's new album was released just yesterday (October 24) and has managed to sell a whopping 34,255 copies in just one day according to the Hanteo charts. Not only does this eclipse the sales of their previous albums, but this gives "TWICEcoaster: Lane 1" the record as the highest selling album from a girl group in a single day since 2010. By comparison, the record was previously held by Girls' Generation's "The Boys" with 26.5K copies sold on its first day.
It's not just TWICE's new album that's drawing attention as the MV for their new title track "TT" is also raking in the views. In just 24 hours, the video has reached the 6 million view mark on YouTube (and is still continuing to soar), making it the second-most watched K-pop group MV in 24 hours this year, ranking just behind BTS.
A huge congrats to TWICE for these astounding achievements! To celebrate, let's re-watch their awesome "TT" MV again (and contribute to its rising view count):
