Welcome to SBS Commissioned Content
Our job at SBS is to show the Australian public bold and imaginative content which will inspire them to explore, appreciate and celebrate contemporary Australia. We want to work with Australian independent producers to do some of the greatest creative work of our time. SBS audiences expect and deserve gold-standard content; with quality storytelling and high production values. They also want to be involved, to share, to debate and our job is to embrace this new and evolving relationship with our audience.
We commission over 100 hours a year and our challenge is to surprise and to innovate. We want to share that journey with you and let’s together be brave and deliver a depth and breadth of programming which will be known for its courage and creativity and in doing so celebrate multicultural Australia.

Feedback wanted: SBS Producer Compliance Guidelines for factual material in commissioned content (draft)
SBS regards the integrity of the production process and the protection of audience trust as critical to the success of its commissioned programs and content. To assist achieving this, SBS aims to work collaboratively with its external producers and where possible provide tools and guidance to ensure content meets the editorial, legal and ethical expectations of our audiences and stakeholders.
As part of this aim, SBS has developed the SBS Producer Compliance Guidelines for factual material in commissioned content (Guidelines). These Guidelines are intended to provide helpful, practical and best practice guidance to producers on particular areas relating to factual content, and are in addition to the existing SBS Codes of Practice and SBS Editorial Guidelines with which all SBS content must comply.
SBS would welcome feedback from producers on the Guidelines to ensure they are as useful and workable as possible. Please submit any comments you have by Friday 20 February 2015 to firstname.lastname@example.org. The final Guidelines will be published on this site soon after.
