The gun goes off for the 2009 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race and the Sailors with Disabilities crew are racing; against all the odds, do they have what it takes to win their division the world’s most prestigious open water yacht race?

Skipper David Pescud has won his division of the Sydney to Hobart twice before, but this year just reaching Constitution Dock will be challenging enough. On board are a number of people who have never before competed in the arduous Sydney to Hobart.

Nerves, seasickness and non-stop sailing are all part of the action as the boat goes through the highs and the lows, the calm and the storms on their way to Hobart.

Sailing is the only sport in the world which does not have a disabled category, so Sailors with Disabilities are competing against crews much more able than they are.

But with a crew and captain determined to place first, Sailors with Disabilities are going to sail through a lot more than just hell and high water as they race towards the finish line.
