Every year in November the small desert oasis of Pushkar becomes a place of pilgrimage for millions of Indians. It’s also a trading place for camels, and horses. Rajasthan’s most beautiful horses are on sale here in a bazaar held for nine days a year. To ride these superb creatures is the dream of many young men. These horses, recognisable by their ears curled at the tip, are only found in the north of India. They are considered loyal, courageous and of strong character and are the subject of many legends.
