UK trio The xx have announced a 2018 Australian tour with shows planned in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane next January.

The group is touring in support of their latest album I See You and will be donating $1 from each ticket sold to local LGBT+ organisations— through their partnership with Plus 1.

Plus1 works with acts such as Tegan and Sara, St Vincent and Perfume Genius to help raise money for causes the artists are passionate about.
The xx played at Splendour in the Grass last month but the upcoming tour will be the first headline shows that the group has played in Australia since 2013.

Fans who head along to the group's all-ages shows next year will also be treated to performances from support acts Kelela and Earl Sweatshirt.

The group’s recent video for their single "Say Something Loving" celebrated same-sex relationships, featuring footage of London and young LGBT+ people.
Romy Madley Croft from the band announced her engagement to girlfriend Hannah Marshall earlier this year via Instagram.
The xx has previously had to issue a statement in response to a Croation group that used one of their songs in an anti-marriage equality ad.

“It has come to our attention that our music has been used without our permission in a promotional advert by the Croatian organisation “U ime obitelji”,” the statement posted on The xx’s Facebook page said.

“We wish to state that we didn’t, and would never, approve the use of our music by this organisation. To be clear, we unconditionally support the equal right to marriage regardless of sexuality.”
