Two young children and their two grandparents (all of Greek background) have been killed in a horrific crash between a truck and a car in South Australia. The devastating accident happened on the Augusta Highway just south of the town of Crystal Brook, around 200km north of Adelaide, just after midday on Sunday. Two little girls, aged just five and ten years old, were killed along with their grandmother and grandfather, aged 69 and 70, when the car they were in, which was towing a caravan, collided head-on with a truck at high speed. Both the car and caravan were ripped apart upon impact, scattering debris across the highway and killing the four members of the same family instantly. The driver of the truck was seriously injured and trapped in the wreckage for some time after his heavy vehicle flipped onto its side in the collision. He was eventually freed and airlifted to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening head and leg injuries. Three other passengers travelling in the truck escaped serious injury.
