Melbourne declared most inspiring city in the world

Sydney ranked 16 out of 18 cities surveyed.

We all know Melbourne is the most liveable city in the world. Now, a new survey has found Melbourne to be world’s most inspiring city.

Time Out Global City Index survey has declared Melbourne most inspiring city in the world.

Over 20,000 people from 18 different cities around the world were asked 81 questions to gauge how different cities performed on six factors like dynamism, inspiration, food & drink, community, sociability and affordability.

Melbourne came out on the top in ‘Inspiration’ category. 62% believe that Melbourne ‘always has something new to do’. 72% of those surveyed said they ‘love exploring different parts of Melbourne’.

Inspiration was defined as whether the city feels like a pleasant or difficult place to live.

In comparison to Melbourne, only 22% from Sydney believe that ‘there’s always something new to do’. Sydney ranked 16 of the 18 cities surveyed and was ranked the least sociable on the list.

In totality, Chicago ranked on the top as a fun city and Melbourne came in at number 2. But the difference was just 0.8%.
