UPDATE: Police have cleared the Apple store on George St. in Sydney CBD.

Customers have once again lined up to enter the store.

It is yet to be known what led to the evacuation of the store.

Details awaited.

News.com.au reports that a police operation is under way in Sydney CBD.

The report states the Apple store on George Street in Sydney has been evacuated and the road cordoned off.

A witness claimed it was a “bomb threat”.

Shoppers have been evacuated from the store.

Ashley, one of those evacuated, tweeted that he “heard store employees talking about a bomb threat, not a drill” and police were “very firm in telling people to leave immediately.”

A NSW Police spokeswoman told news.com.au: “There’s a police operation at a business on George Street and the store was evacuated as a precaution.”
