The Australian census 2016 was already facing a lot of complaints, concerns and protests against its approach to privacy with the government deciding to hold the data for 4 years instead of eighteen months. But when the actual time came for people to log on to fill their form, the website crashed at peak time.
Around sixteen million people were expected to fill the form online this year. Many people logged in today and were able to successfully complete and submit their form. However, not long after dinner time, many more millions tried to log on and that’s when the servers crashed under the load and users were left with grey pages and nowhere to go. This prompted some hilarious memes on social media with the hashtag #Censusfail. Here are some for you all to enjoy!
