Is there anti-Semitism in Australia? Find out the latest from the most reliable source that had been documenting all anti-Semitic incidents. (That had been reported) Listen to a special interview with Julie Nathan, the researcher and author of the Antisemitism 2017 report that has just been released by the Executive Council of Australian Jewry Julie Nathan told SBS that Australia experienced a 9.5-percent increase in anti-Semitic attacks and assaults from September 2016 to September 2017. A total of 230 anti-Semitic incidents were recorded during that period, with 76 involving abuse, harassment or intimidation. Julie says that not all the attacks are documented and included in her report as many times people don’t know who they should report to. She urges the public to notify the police and the Jewish organizations around Australia if they encountered or withnessed any anti-Semitc attacks or incidents. Her findings are documented in a new report released by the Executive Council of Australian Jewry, “2017, Report on Antisemitism in Australia Please note that the data collected in this report is restricted exclusively to incidents which were reported to, and authenticated and logged by, any one or more of the following: - Jewish community roof bodies in each State; - Their respective Community Security Groups (if any); - The ECAJ itself.
