A group of young and diverse people from Perth are hosting ILLUMENATE: You and Me for Humanity at the Perth City Farm on Sunday, October 16 from at 4.30 pm.
This creative event will feature local poets, talented musicians, photographic displays, a keynote address, an interactive installation, a mural painting and food trucks for a special evening in celebration of the lives of Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King and Abdul Sattar Edhi, and their commitment to a lifetime of service to humanity.
The event seeks to build bridges among the different communities in Western Australia by encouraging people to explore their potential to serve humanity and change the world, using the legacies of these great humanitarians as inspiration.
The event features Zainab Z Syed an internationally touring Spoken Word Artist, who has performed and taught workshops at venues in Australia, the US, UK, Europe and South Asia.
The audience will also be entertained by performance of a local band, Talbees, that is focused on delivering a new meaning to the subcontinental rock music and aims to revive the passion for music in generations to come.
