Robbie McEwen is one of SBS’ much loved cycling presenters, joining the team after he retired from professional cycling 6 years ago. Robbie sits alongside Matt Keenan in the commentary box for the Tour de France, providing analysis and insight for all English speaking nations tuning in to the Tour around the world.

Robbie is one of Australia’s most successful cycling exports, and is a three time winner of the coveted Green Jersey at the Tour de France as well as 12 individual stages.  At Robbie’s peak he was considered the fastest sprinter in the world.

Robbie has been involved in all aspects of the cycling world from being a technical adviser and sprint coach to organising his own Gran Fondo event, leading corporate rides, regularly partaking in mass participation events and supporting various charities.

In an interview about his retirement from cycling, Robbie’s closing comments were “But I certainly want to stay involved in cycling. It gave me everything”.
