While the Ballarat/Buninyong area in Victoria is currently not under threat, Cycling Australia and event organisers will continue regular contact with emergency services, including the Country Fire Association (CFA) and Victoria Police regarding the situation.
Cycling Australia will also monitor air quality, another risk for riders and fans amidst the current national catastrophe.
For more details, head to Cycling Australia's full announcement.
While we here at Cycling Central love our passion of cycling, and have now ramped up to 11 in full cycling season mode, it is still currently one of the last things on our minds.
Our thoughts are with those who have lost, or have come close to losing, loved ones, property and animals.
