Filippo Ganna won Stage 2 of the UAE Tour while Tadej Pogacar is the new Red Jersey.

ITT World Champion Ganna of Ineos Grenadiers has won Stage 2, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council Stage, of the UAE Tour, ahead of Stefan Bissegger (EF Education - Nippo) and Mikkel Bjerg (UAE Team Emirates) over a 13km ITT on the Hudayriyat Island.

Ganna's eighth consecutive time trial victory keeps him unbeaten in his specialty for a whole year.

2020 Tour de France winner Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates), meanwhile, has been awarded the Red Jersey.

Fourth on the day, he moved into the lead of the General Classification with a 5’’ advantage over João Almeida (Deceuninck-Quick Step) ahead of tomorrow's summit finish on Jebel Hafeet.
