From acclaimed directors Stefano Sollima (Sicario: Day of the Soldado), Pablo Trapero (The Clan) and Janus Metz (True Detective), and writers Leonardo Fasoli (Gomorrah) and Mauricio Katz (Maniac), ZeroZeroZero is the result of over three years of research and interviews.

It explores globalisation through a unique and unexplored perspective, offering viewers a fascinating portrait of cocaine. “ZeroZeroZero” flour is the finest, whitest available. Among narcotraffickers, it is also the nickname for the purest cocaine on the market.

The series follows the journey of a cocaine shipment, from the moment a powerful Italian cartel purchases it, to its packaging in Mexico and shipment across the Atlantic Ocean. Its journey is followed until reaching its final delivery and payment in Europe.

An epic power struggle is sparked among the most powerful bosses in the hierarchy of international organised crime – their lives and livelihoods hang in the balance.

Filmed in six countries across three continents, ZeroZeroZero explores the consequences and contradictions of globalisation through the drug trade. From the award-winning team behind Gomorrah, the highly anticipated eight-part series premieres in Australia on Thursday May 14 at 9.30pm on SBS and episodes will be available at SBS On Demand same day as broadcast.

The series boasts a renowned international cast including celebrated Irish actor and Golden Globe Award winner Gabriel Byrne (Hereditary), award-winning actress Andrea Riseborough (Birdman), Dane DeHaan (Valerian and the City of A Thousand Planets) and Harold Torres (El Chapo).

ZeroZeroZero premieres at 9:30pm Thursday 14 May on SBS. Episodes will be available at SBS On Demand on the same day as broadcast.
